Newsline: Sing-Off, an a cappella TV show on NBC

Late last week, a number of media outlets made note of NBC’s upcoming new program, Sing-Off. Reports indicate that it will be a weekly series to air over a two month period, in which a cappella groups will compete with one another. Viewer votes will determine which groups get to continue from week to week, with one ensemble voted off on each episode, akin to what happens on American Idol. The last group standing will reportedly earn a recording deal with Sony Music.
